LiquidWeb.com VPS Review
liquidweb.com is a web hosting provider operating since 1997, long before most people even knew what the internet is. They are a big name in the industry due to the long time they are on the market and their broad portfolio. The hosting service serves all kinds of companies – be it big online shops needing a lot of webspace for their ecommerce system, agencies or just small businesses or freelancers needing just a minimum of web space for their homepage.
Customers can choose between shared or dedicated hosting packages. But besides those standard web space packages liquidweb also offers Cloud services such as Cloud sites, Cloud dedicated or Cloud VPS. For us the Cloud VPS is the most interesting service that we want to have a closer look at.
The company is also active on Twitter and other social media.
The Liquidweb.com VPS
The cloud VPS offer by Liquidweb is VPS hosting with SSD and can either be fully-managed, core-managed or entirely self-managed. The service claims to have the best server performance on the market, being faster than the competitors Digital Ocean or Rackspace. This is proven by a independent third party cloud analytics company called Cloud Spectator. So if you’re looking for an especially high performance, liquidweb would be the first choice.
The servers of Liquidweb are located at 4 different zones, 3 centers in the US and one in Europe. Customers can choose the server location when ordering a VPS.
VPS Hosting of Liquidweb comes with a lot of extra services, that are all included at no extra cost:
- Cloudflare: This service speeds up your website and adds extra cloud security
- DDoS Attack Protection: Since DDoS Attacks are a big thread for many websites, this service is very important and mustn’t be missing in a VPS hosting package. At Liquidweb VPS hosting there is a free basic protection included that is always on.
- Built-in Backups: This service concerns local site backups that are included with all servers.
An integrated firewall, root access, Gigabit transfer, unlimited sites and dedicated IP adresses are other features that are included in every VPS.
Packages & Pricing
As you can see in the following image liquidweb.com offers 4 VPS plans but is not limited tho those. So in case a customer has some extra needs that can easily be discussed with the experienced web hosting provider.
You can choose between 2GB, 4GB, 8GB or even 16GB RAM. WEb space is limited to 40 GB, 100GB, 150GB or even 200GB, depending on the package you choose. All packages come with 10 TB Bandwidth and CPanel or Plesk Onyx as comfortable management surfaces. The smallest package is a Linux VPS, in case of the 3 bigger packages you can choose between Linu and Windows. Prices range from $59/month up to $189/month.
For people who need an dedicated Cloud VPS the hosting service offers high performance packages upon request. Those even include up to 128 GB RAM, SSD & SATA Storage, high performance processors with up to 28 cores, OS is again Linux or Windows.
There is no such thing as a trial, but if you shouldn’t be satisfied for any reason the subscriptions can be canceled monthly so you won’t hang in a yearly plan where you can’t get out earlier. However, usually everything should work well.
Customer Service
If you have any problems or questions their very well rated customer support is happy to help quickly. You can either use the live chat, email them or use their 24h phone support, which is pretty cool. This might be one of the reasons why the hoster enjoyes a very high customer loyalty which means that people who once chose Liquidweb usually stick to the service.
Bottomline
The service seems generally very reliable which is backed by a big majority of positive reviews online. Liquid VPS can be used for a vast variety of use cases, as long as they terms aren’t violated. Use cases that are disallowed are the ones everybody can imagine, like spam activity and all sorts of typical illegal stuff such as hacking, phising, pirating software, network attacks etc. You can read the details in their terms.
